A Scandinavian Christmas

December 19, 2015

Don’t miss the delectable annual Minnesota Orchestra Scandinavian Christmas holiday concert on December 19, which features the Orchestra led by Sarah Hicks, principal conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, and joined by the Ethnic Dance Theatre dancers, the Minnesota Boychoir and the Twin Cities Girls Chorus.

This unique concert mixes wonderful Scandinavian holiday music with other winter favorites and some surprise twists, including a Christmas sing-a-long accompanied by on-screen animation, a live reading of Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and a never-before-seen version of the classic animated short film The Snow Queen, produced by video designers Scott Winters and Rune Spaans. Adding color to this cornucopia of sights and sounds will be the Ethnic Dance Theatre dancers in their authentic Danish and Swedish costumes as they swirl around the stage.

Bundle up the whole family (recommended for over 8 year olds) in your Nordic sweaters and enjoy this magical Minnesota Orchestra tradition.

You can purchase your tickets here.
